Each
year in the U.S.,
smoking kills more people than murder, AIDS, drug abuse, alcohol,
car crashes, fires and suicides combined. Health care costs in Arkansas
alone total more than six hundred and thirty million dollars a year.
What
about kids?
Parents who smoke increase the likelihood that a child will do the
same. Courts have even considered smoke in child custody cases.
Secondhand smoke is linked to bronchitis, pneumonia, asthma and
more.
And
if youre pregnant?
If you smoke or frequently inhale secondhand smoke, your baby is
more likely to die from a miscarriage, be still born, die from Sudden
Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), be premature, be underdeveloped, or
develop a childhood cancer.
